Alhambra dance provides Middle Eastern, Flamenco, and Flamenco & Bellydance fusion performances. The agency houses many professional and versatile dancers who enjoy bringing the beauty of dance alive for both large and small audiences. Adding a Bellydancer or Flamenco Artist to your event or special occasion can create excitement and provide both you and your guests with a most memorable experience.

What is involved in a Bellydance show?
Typically dancer(s) will start off with a veil entrance piece followed by some upbeat and fun music, and ending with an exciting drum solo. Other props such as finger cymbals or cane may be used. Shamadan may also be an option on request, but will cost extra. You can choose to have audience interaction especially including the guest(s) of honour or you have the option to sit back and enjoy an entire performance.
Our dancers provide all music on a CD. If you would like a live drummer with the show, we can arrange for that if given enough notice, and this will be provided at an additional charge. If you have live musicians some of our dancers may be able to dance with them.
You can have anywhere from 1-6 dancers performing at your event. Please keep in mind that more than one dancer will cost extra. If you hire a group of dancers, your show will be more varied, with solos and group pieces.
Duration/
Recommended show length is a maximum of 20 minutes. Depending on the type of event the show can be shorter or longer. Much longer than 20 minutes, and your audience will likely get bored and not appreciate the performance anymore. If you choose to have a show longer than what is recommended, consultation is required. Possible options include having two separate shows with a break in between.
What is involved in a Flamenco show?
Alhambra Dance Company can provide the following flamenco performances:
- A soloist (CD or live music - guitarist and singer)
- A duo (CD or live music - guitarist and singer)
- A larger group of 3 or more flamenco dancers is available upon request
Additional information:
- Performances are typically 20 minutes in length and can vary depending on preference (change in length of performance does not change the rate of pay).
- Performances requiring 3 or more dancers or live music should be booked as far in advance as possible.
- Rate for guitarist and singer is $200-$250 (each).
Important: For flamenco performances a raised wooden stage is best, or at the very least a wooden floor. This is needed for optimal sound due to the percussive nature of flamenco dancing. If your event is at a banquet hall they may be able to provide this for you.
Also, please note that the floor will get scratched. Therefore, please discuss these details with the coordinator/manager at the location of the event.
What is involved in a Flamenco/Bellydance fusion show?
This show style gives you a wide range of options which are listed below:
- Dance pieces where Flamenco & Bellydance styles are fused (integrated together)
- Dance pieces where both Bellydance and Flamenco are danced at the same time sometimes with corresponding props of veils and shawls, castanets and finger cymbals, possibly fans and fan veils
- Separate Flamenco & Bellydance pieces in the same show
- A show with the largest variety where we offer you all of the above! (This is at an additional cost because of how many costume changes there may have to be)
Our dancers provide all music on CD. If you would like a live drummer, live flamenco musicians (singer, guitarist, etc.) or live Middle Eastern musicians involved in the show, this all comes at additional charge. You can have anywhere from 1-6 dancers performing at this type event, although based on which dancers have experience in what dance forms will determine what type of fusion show you will be provided with. With 2-6 dancers, you have the largest amount of options to work with.
**Please note, that at the present time the type of show we are able to provide is Separate Flamenco & Bellydance in the same show, with only a soloist (Caliana) doing Flamenco & Bellydance fusion (fusing of both elements together at the same time in dance movements). If you are interested in the other show possibilities please let us know, and we will keep you updated as to when we begin to offer that type of fusion show.

Booking Policy, Contract, & Payment
Booking a dancer/dancers requires a 25% non-refundable deposit and a signed agreement to terms stated on the contract. Deposits can be made by cash, cheque, or paypal. The balance is due the day of performance. Acceptable payment methods are cash, cheque or paypal (in advance).
