ABOUT US

Alhambra Dance’s website will be completely revamped within the next 6-8 months! Our look will be different, we will have our own logo, we’ll have professional pictures, and the site will work properly! We will continue to update you on events, services and classes. The troupe has transformed yet again and now consists of Caliana, Siham, Lluvia and Patricia. To spare too much scrolling, biographies will be unavailable at this time.

About Alhambra Dance Fusion and Middle Eastern Troupe

We are Flamenco and Middle Eastern Dancers who enjoy anything and everything to do with these two forms of dance. If you are a musician or aspiring pro musician within these two dance cultures please feel free to get involved too!

I find that dancing is a life long learning experience. Just when you think you’ve learned all there is to know, you realize that you’ve only just touched the tip of the ice berg!

We all continuously aspire towards becoming better through ongoing classes, workshops, and taking performance opportunities when they arise.

Some of us also strive towards achieving higher levels through embarking on pro courses, middle eastern dance teacher training, and when time and money permits, travel to Spain, Egypt or Turkey to study with the masters in the dance form’s birth place.

Alhambra Dance Troupe was founded by Caliana together with the help of Nazirah in June 2006. The group has undergone considerable change since its creation. The Alhambra Dance Troupe performed at their first event in August 2007 and most recently performed at Om Laila’s Monthly FUNKaBELLY Party on May 10th 2008. We are a Fusion Dance Troupe who mainly work on Middle Eastern pieces, but will venture into fusions combining Flamenco and Middle Eastern dance. Later we may experiment with other types of dance as well. The members are eagerly awaiting their next performance.

The Alhambra Dance Troupe has reconvened and you can expect to hear more about us in the near future.

Alhambra Dance provides solo performers and/or instructors for your special occasion/event etc. Soon we will offer group performances.

Text Box: Services Offered by Alhambra Dance Hire dancers for your next event or special occasion. With our help you can come up with your own customized show package with Flamenco and Belly Dance, one or the other, or fusion of both styles. You can hire more than one dancer for your event, and we will put together a fabulous combination show for your event. For a group performance, we require at least 2 months notice to prepare a great show for you. Caliana teaches belly dancing classes in the Toronto area. There will be 2 6 week summer sessions, the first one will go from June 9-July 21. Hire her to teach and/or perform for one of your functions.
